Ok - So I was asked to write about me by a very foolish person - so I will.

Keeping things short and sweet I'll say that in general, life has its many twists and turns. Those that know me well are very cognizant of the many twist (and turns) my life has taken. Being fortunate to grow up in a progressive environment that was all about independent thinking (and I was a low performer in my families household) gave me the tools for survival. Be yourself,  challenge yourself and challenge those around you to perform with creativity, 'do your own thing' and look back just long enough to learn from any mistakes you may have made. My personal creativity began with music (Still doing some of that) in the early '60's having received a record album from my one-day-to-be sister-in-law of some British guys wearing suits (what were they thinking?) and longish hair. Sort of subscribing to my earlier comment of doing your own thing. Along with many (this should be an industry survey) music drew me in to the audio side of the world and eventually to the planet now known as Audiovisual.

Along that twisty path of life I had opportunities to live and work with some of the very best (and maybe not-so-best for one reason or another) people in the world. Most of those experiences are well documented in recorded vinyl (to a greater or lesser extent) and professional reports and trade articles in more recent years as I 'cleaned up my act' (cough!).

A friend and business associate gave me a sign to hang in my office a couple of years back from which I quote - Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body. But rather to skid in sideways totally worn out, shouting 'holy s..., what a ride!'

I'm good with that idea - anyone want to come along for a ride? See you guys at the NSCA sponsored Drunk Unkles gig at Infocomm, Wednesday evening June 17 at B.B. Kings in Orlando from 9:00 -??

Hugs to All..

lemme know what ya thinkin....

Chris Monck

Chris Monck is a dear friend to many people in our industry; especially here in the southwest.
Chris suffered a stroke in 2004 and amazingly enough survived.  He is doing well living in his home state of Delaware.  Drop Chris a line to say hello:

Bill Schuermann, HFP Acoustical, Houston

Cathy and Bill Schuermann are an integral part of a horse rescue program in the Houston area.  Cathy selflessly cares these animals; whatever they need, no matter the weather – they can count on her.  I think many cold nights have been spent in the barn.  Below is a story from Bill regarding their baby, Montreux.

From Bill:
Cathy and I adopted a rescue horse from the Houston SPCA in July 2007 and named him Montreux. At that time, Montreux only weighed around 200 pounds, was severely malnourished, and in need of intensive care. Last week he turned one year old (a yearling), now stands 13.2 hands at the withers (that is 4.4’ at the shoulders for you city folks), and weighs close to 600 pounds. When full grown a male Percheron, like Montreux, can stand 18 hands (6’) and weigh 2,000 pounds. Montreux is beautiful, healthy, and a very active colt.

In early August, 2007 we received a call from the producers of Animal Cops Houston asking if they could come to house and video a segment on Montreux in his new adopted home. On August 12, the ACH video crew arrived (with a full Sony 1080P field production rig which was very cool) and shot for several hours. Cathy and I hope you enjoy the story about our baby who is now almost 600 pounds.
Cheers to All,

Cathy and Bill
