DNP and DPI to show enormous 5 channel edge blend at infocomm
Utilizing DNP’s Supernova Infinity Arc
It's what happens when old friends come together....
When Manfred Freiberger of DNP throws " ideas" around with his old buddies Mike Levi and Mike Akridge of DPI, you know something BIG is going to happen. BTW~ when we say big...we mean a 7' x 40' curved projection surface with roughly a 8000 x 1200 pixel count. All blended together seamlessly with a DPI 5 channel edge blend system using Titan 700’s. Leave it to these two friends to produce what will surely be one of the biggest and brightest projection displays at the expo.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 2010
IRVINE, California – dnp denmark, the world's leading supplier of optical screen technology for front and rear projection will show a curved dnp Supernova front projection screen based on the dnp Supernova Infinity concept in the Digital Projection display at Infocomm, exhibit N939.
For the first time ever dnp denmark will display a curved Supernova Infinity screen. Dubbed the Supernova Infinity Arc, this massive screen has a height of 7-feet and a radius of 40-feet. “This concept screen provides a glimpse into the future of what the capabilities are with the Supernova Infinity Arc,” says dnp’s US Senior Account Executive Manfred Freiberger. “As far as applications are concerned, we developed the Supernova Infinity Arc to become the ultimate large-format, front projection, Control Room and Simulation screen.”
Digital Projection will use 5 x TITAN WUXGA 700 projectors. Warp and blend will be provided by DPI’s new FUSION MD Processors. The source will be a 5-channel WatchOut system, creating an image that is 8000 pixels wide by 1200 pixels high, displaying custom content created in house by Digital Projection.
The Supernova Infinity is a modular screen system that creates exceptionally large-sized viewing experiences out of any number of Supernova screen panels. By fitting the panels together using a uniquely developed aluminum structure, the Supernova Infinity essentially transforms the panels into building blocks for creating large-scale displays with endless size possibilities.

Digital Projection Launches Projection Specification Tool for the AV Industry
ATLANTA, GA – Digital Projection Inc. (DPI), .introduced the Calculator Toolbox, where users can quickly calculate essential data such as the image size and throw distance of a projector given a few basic parameters. The entire calculator suite integrates seamlessly with DPI’s projector database, creating a one-stop destination for dealers that need guidance as well as accurate results. As a case in point, when a DPI dealer proceeds through one of the calculators, the process commences with the option to print or email a cumulative report detailing all aspects of their process. Suitable for sending directly to an end user, or to Digital Projection with a purchase order, the professionally formatted report presents a simple yet graphically dynamic end result.
In addition to the suite’s core functionality are numerous other tools and guides intended to demystify the projector selection process, as well as identify the true long-term cost of ownership of any projection system within any application. The Calculator Toolbox delivers a dedicated portal whereby the audio/video industry can confidently research and specify the key aspects of a projector installation in order to configure the perfect display solution. To experience the Calculator Toolbox, click here for access.
Digital Projection Inc. began developing the functionality and architecture of the Calculator Toolbox, as well the supporting databases, in late 2008. What began as a modest browser-based lens calculator has steadily grown, at the behest of DPI’s dealers and industry partners, to encompass all aspects of the projector selection process. Mike Levi, President of Digital Projection Inc., commented, “We wanted to create a true first for our dealer network. Innovation takes time, and I feel that we have now created an immensely helpful industry toolkit.” Levi continued, “The industry at-large will benefit from the suite of tools, though DPI dealers will specifically appreciate some higher-value functionality, such as the ability to discover appropriate lenses, screen brightness and contrast targets for their specific installation.”
In conjunction with the Toolbox release, DPI’s Find the Perfect Projector (FPP) portal also received a complete overhaul. Accessible by clicking here, the FPP portal allows users to identify the projector(s) that best suit their application based on simple parameters. As the FPP portal intuitively coordinates with the Calculator Toolbox, users can then take the recommended projector and immediately harness the full suite of calculator tools without reentering data.
The Calculator Toolbox operates within all mainstream web browsers, making it easily accessible to anyone with internet access. DPI dealers and interested parties can find a direct link to the Toolbox at the dedicated navigation button mentioned above, as well as at the top of each projector landing page at www.digitalprojection.com.
We hope you’ll take advantage of this beneficial tool.

TV One New Products
TV One has a number of new product announcements and I want to pull them all together in one document.
First, the C2-6104 DVI-I Multiviewer has had good success over its first few months. We will be following it with the C2-6204 3G-SDI Multiviewer in January. The C2-6204 will have the same basic features of the C2-6104, but will include 3G-SDI AND DVI-I outputs. List price on both products is $4,900.
The new CORIO Tools Suite is now on the website as a no charge download. This is a vast improvement over its predecessor and can control multiple processors from within one session. Here is the link to it:

They will power any of the C2-1000 series, any of the S2 series, and any of the TV One Task products that use 12v. (If you’re not aware, SOME One Task products use 5v.) They will not power the C2-2000 series due to the higher current demands of those products. They have the twist-lock coaxial connectors and will rackmount with the C2/S2 series rackmount kits. Here’s a great way to eliminate some of the rats nest of wires around AC strips and provide a reliable source of power for multiple product installs.
